Danby Castle Wedding Photography
Danby Castle Location
Danby Castle is in such a nice location. It’s on the North Yorkshire Moors in a remote and beautiful spot.
It has incredible views over the valley and the photo below shows what an amazingly isolated spot you’re in.
There are several hotels nearby for your guests to stay, plus you’re only about 30 minutes from Whitby, where there are loads of accommodation options.
Getting ready area
The main house at Danby Castle has a dedicated room for getting ready.
It has enough space for the bridal party and mirrors for if you’re getting hair and makeup done.
These guys had a great laugh during the morning, enjoying the early part of their day.
The ceremony room
The beautiful stonework and historic features of the ceremony room make this a really special place to get married.
The guests are able to enter from the stone steps at the side, whereas the bridal party can enter from the rear door, which is connected to the main house.
Outside areas at Danby Castle
The grassy area outside of the Castle is a great location for your guests to chill out and enjoy themselves, especially if they’re playing lawn games.
The views across the countryside are amazing and the backdrop of the castle is pretty unique.
Portrait wedding photography at Danby Castle
It was raining when the se guys wanted to grab some portrait pictures. So we initially found a beautiful spot in front of some amazing windows.
Later on, when the weather improved, we were able to head outside and get some more pictures in the grounds.
In the evening we were able to drive up onto the moors and grab a couple of pictures before heading back to the reception party.
The wedding reception
The main room was laid out beautifully for the wedding breakfast meal, and was a great place for the speeches by the father of the bride, the groom and a team effort from the groomsmen.
In the evening the adjoining bar made a great dancefloor for the guests to go crazy!
