This was a beautiful winter wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn in Cheshire.
The interior was decorated by Uplit Events, and looked like a gorgeous winter wonderland.
I was shooting this wedding on my own so I wanted to make sure that I was at the back of the room at the end of the ceremony, ready for these guys coming down the aisle.
They were showered in confetti so I wanted to make sure that I could capture all the fast movement in an environment that was a bit darker than a daytime wedding.

This image was featured as part of This Is Reportage‘s Black and White Friday.
It was taken on the dance floor at the Arkwright Rooms in Nottingham.
I love the natural smiles in this picture.
This was taken in the ceremony room at Hazlewood Castle.
The window off to the right was providing plenty of light, so it was a dream location to shoot.
Christina was tucked away in the other corner of the room, so was able to get some great shots of the groom from another angle.

Behind Lancaster Registry Office is this beautiful spot.
It’s a perfect location to grab some photos immediately after the ceremony.
These weren’t arranged beforehand but I’d spotted this place when I was scouting the location the morning of the wedding.
In the weeks before I’d been looking for scenic locations on Google Maps that we could visit without having to drive.
(The reception was in another location so we only had a bit of time here immediately after the ceremony.)
So I was really pleased that this was just behind the registry office.
It had been raining heavily all morning. There was still a bit of rain by this point but the bridal party had a few solutions:
This was a beautiful wedding. The ceremony room here was full of natural light and amazing features, making our job a lot easier!
The bride and groom were smiling and giggling throughout (again, making our job easier!)
There was a lot of emotion in the room. I was on the other side, trying to capture some of the reactions of the guests while also keeping the bride and groom in the shot.
After signing the register, we tried a couple of quick shots from the back of the room, to capture some of the awesome details, like the fans and beams above:
There were so many pictures of their smiles:
Plus kids messing about with the flowers:
The room was decorated beautifully:
And there was dancing out of the room!
(There’ll be a proper post about this wedding, later this year.) x

This image was taken just as the bridesmaids were about to leave for the wedding.
The doorway seemed like a natural frame, especially for a shot in portrait orientation.
I really liked how the red from the car contrasted the yellow dresses and the yellow flowers.
I’ll be posting more from this wedding soon. I’m planning to blog all the 2019 weddings just as soon as I’ve finished shooting them!
In the meantime, you can see more weddings at the wedding photo gallery.
This is the old cliche: the bride and groom on a climbing frame!
These guys didn’t want any posed or formal photos.
They just wanted candid moments from the day, plus some fun portraits:

The image was taken during a wedding at The Beaches Hotel, Prestatyn.
It was a beautiful ceremony in a small village and then the reception was on the beach front.
This was a quiet moment before the evening partying began!
