Engagement Photography

Why book an engagement photography shoot?

It may be something that you’ve never really considered.

You may be wondering what’s the point of taking these photographs, when you’re just interested in finding somebody to capture your wedding day.

Well, I’ve found that everyone who has booked an engagement photography session with me has really enjoyed it, and found it a really positive experience.

It may feel like it’s going to be a big deal, allocating time when you’re already busy arranging a wedding.
But it’s a fun, no-hassle way to meet each other and for you to get a sense of how well we work together.

You can see if we’ll click. In terms of what you’re looking for in the photography itself, as well as how I go about taking the photographs.

So from the point of view of evaluating a photographer, without having to wait until the big day, it’s something that I would always recommend.

But as well as that, it’s just really good fun.

We’ll generally pick somewhere that’s a place you love, and enjoy spending time, and it’s just a fun relaxed activity to do.

Plus you’ll get to keep some amazing pictures!

“I was so nervous but you made me feel so comfortable. Such a lovely talented person cant wait for my wedding to arrive x”

“was good to meet you too!! Was much more relaxed than what we anticipated we thought it was good fun. Look forward to hearing from you.”

It’s great as a couple to spend a bit of time together, and feel a bit special during such an exciting time in your life.

Also, it’s not just a situation where I’m fully in control as the photographer, it’s also a collaborative event.

Everyone that I’ve shot an engagement shoot with has contributed ideas and we’ve talked about what they would like from the photographs. On the day we’ve tried out different fun things.

So it’s a two-way process that’s a good laugh, and a great way to express yourself.

It’s also great to see what you look like with a professional camera. The photographs just look a bit different, so it’s nice to get a sense of how your final pictures will look.

And it can increase your enjoyment of your wedding day. You can relax knowing that you’re going to look good in the pictures – that they’ll look the way you want, and you’ll look the way you want.

Some people approach it just as a fun day out, but for some people it can increase their confidence on the big day.

And the shoot doesn’t take long. It will normally be an hour and a half out of your day.

Plus they’re photographs that you’ll have forever.

Although your wedding is the day that you’ll want to remember for all time, it’s also nice to have pictures of a time in your life that’s so special.

We can meet at a location that you choose, for example a country park or another place that you love, and we’ll have a chat and a brief wander, while taking some relaxed and natural pictures.

After the shoot, the images will be available in an online gallery for you to browse and download.

You can also choose one picture for a print, or to be mounted as a “signature board” (with surrounding white space, for your wedding guests to leave messages of goodwill and congratulations.)

You can download the other images for “save the date” cards, profile pictures or anything else.

You’ll get the photos as full print quality (and without watermarks) so you can use them online or to print in the future.

It will be a snapshot of your engagement that you can look back at, years from now, and remember this unique moment.

(If nothing else, it’s a fun experience to take a break from any wedding-planning stress!)

On the day, I can help with some direction at the start if you like, to help you feel relaxed.

But after a while we’ll be breezing along naturally and collaborating together on ideas.

This will hopefully give you a good idea of how we can continue working together, and build up trust, so you can be confident that your big day will be relaxed and fun.

Also, if you’re curious about how your wedding pictures might look, then this is also a great opportunity to see yourself at your best.

We’ll take the time to get some beautiful pictures of you, making sure that the light is flattering and any poses are relaxed and natural.

(We’ll take a lot of pictures, but you’ll receive only the absolute best from each scene.)

Some people have arranged the shoot at the place they got engaged. Others have arranged it at the venue where they’re getting married.

If there are grounds or gardens that would be suitable then this can be a good way to see what the final pictures could look like.

(Plus you can walk me through your plans for the big day at the same time.)

We can also meet at another location that’s important to you.

Possibly a local beauty spot or parkland, or somewhere interesting in the city.

Or just leave it to me. I’ll find somewhere that’s near to you, or somewhere between us that has lots of features and backdrops to explore.

If you enjoy the experience and like the pictures then please consider me for your big day!

“Just wanted to say thank you so much for today, we had a great time and soon felt at ease and we’re looking forward to seeing the pics :)”

“Thanks for today we enjoyed it can’t wait to see the pics!”
